St. Monica’s Prize Giving – 2022

The school prize-giving ceremonies give recognition to and celebrate learners who live the schools values, excel academically, culturally as well as on the sports field. On Wednesday, 12 October, the Pre-school held its annual graduation and certificate handover ceremony. The learners put up an impressive performance singing and dancing in their concert. The parents applauded their little ones for their outstanding performances.

The Junior Primary also held their prize-giving ceremony on Wednesday, 12 October where all the phase learners were acknowledged for their hard work and dedication throughout the academic year. The following learners were awarded for best overall performance: Zimi Potwana in Grade 1, Onthatile Lepheana in Grade 2 and Tsireletso Moletsane in Grade 3.

Special mention must be made of the top achievers in the Senior Primary who received book prizes: Endinakho Dlokweni for first place in Grade 4, Mihla Phindela first place in Grade 5, Alondwe Nondabula first place in Grade 6 and Afika Mbobo who was awarded first place in Grade 7 as well as Dux 2022, in the Senior Primary.

On the evening of Thursday, 13 October 2022, we celebrated exceptional academic, sporting and cultural excellence at our annual Prize Giving which recognises the achievements of our college learners.

Our Guest of Honour, Anglican Bishop Tsietsi reminded us of the very important commandment of loving one another. All things that we do should be grounded in love and nothing is worth doing, unless we do it to the glory of God. This is a very important lesson and the way we should approach life.

A number of prizes for academic excellence were awarded at the event. Special congratulations to Lona Mfeketho who was named Dux for 2021.

We would like to congratulate every prize winner. Your hard work and dedication has paid off. As always the very reason why our learners are able to achieve is because of the love, care and support they receive from their parents and teachers.

The highlight of the prize giving was no doubt the announcement of the 2023 prefect body, who will take up their roles to help instil the school’s values into the hearts and minds of every learner. We wish them well for the upcoming year.

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to our parents for their continued support and a special thank you to our sponsors, who in their donations and financial support assist us to ensure quality education and memorable moments.
