St Monica’s held their Inter-House Athletics track & field events from Wednesday 20 to Friday, the 22nd of July 2022. Great excitement filled the air as all the learners from Pre-School to Grade 12 took part in the various events.
As each event was announced, the atmosphere became more and more electrifying, as the two teams, St. Agnes and St. Anthony competed, amidst loud cheers and singing.
On the final day of the track events, excitement mounted, as the athletes took to the track, trying desperately to gain points for their teams. The cheering, singing and even dancing became more intense and it was clear that the day was being thoroughly enjoyed by both learners, parents and staff members.
There were some excellent performances from the athletes with a number of records broken. After tallying up points from the Track and Field items, St Anthony’s was the winning team overall. Well done!
Congratulations to all the athletes who participated in all the track and field events. A huge thank you to all staff members who enthusiastically took up their positions on the day and to the parents, who cheered the athletes on with great gusto!
