On Tuesday 26 April, we were very privileged to host a Matric Farewell for the class of 2022. This was the first farewell that the school hosted since the onset of Covid-19. The parade of elegant cars that are always the highlight of this event, with spectators jostling for a peek of the beautiful suits and gowns, had to be minimised because of Covid-19 regulations.
The event was still as spectacular as ever with a Parisian theme, and the young ladies and gentlemen dressed to impress. Excitement filled the air as the matrics made their entrances for this prestigious event.
The highlight of the evening was the inspiring speeches delivered by our head boy and girl, Lukho Mabunzi and Thabile Mkhize. They spoke with confidence and delighted the crowd with funny facts and conveyed their delight in the years past and future for the class of 2022. There was also a presentation in honour of the matrics and of course lots of dancing. Fun was had by the learners, parents and teachers.
We would like to thank God for his mercies, the Grade 12 parents for always supporting these events, the learners for their impeccable behaviour and the matric farewell committee as well as the grade 11 learners for all their hard work and dedication for making it a memorable evening. We also thank Bellz Décor, Phindi at Mavebi’s for catering, Khalipa for the photography, Prestige Security and the Matatiele Traffic Department.
